Hey guys just a quick update! We survived the 27 hour travel day that took us from Raleigh to Chicago, through both La guardia and JFK in NYC, Geneva and finally to our destination in Lisbon! All in all that makes 1 taxi cab ride, 6 airports, a bus ride and a few miles on foot but we are safe and sound!

Our hostel has been beyond amazing aside from one small exception: snoring. Our first night due to bed availability we slept in an 8 bed dorm. All was well in our dorm until around 4am when one of the tenants on the bunk parallel to my bed began snoring. When I say snoring I don’t just mean your typical middle-age male snore. I mean chain saw meets vibrating walls kind of snore! Seriously though, I have never in my life heard such a thing! He was so loud even one of the other guys in our dorm started yelling at him. Somehow Maggie and Susan were sleeping so soundly they never woke up to hear the atrocious noise! All in all we come to our first lesson of the trip: always, and I mean ALWAYS, keep ear plugs handy : )

As of now, we just moved to our brand-new dorm…a 4 bed bunk that will give us plenty of privacy and hopefully will be snore-free tonight! If on this trip I learn that Susan or Maggie snore, I promise they’ll never hear the end of it : ) All joking aside, we’re doing great and taking in all that we can of Lisbon!
